Heritage Impact Statements
Although most planning applications are straightforward, some applications require further information, such as a Heritage Impact Statement, to allow a decision to be made.
Heritage Impact Statements typically apply to building which are either Listed meaning it holds Special Architectural or Historic Interest, or if the building is located within a Conservation Area.
A Heritage Impact Statement assesses the condition and qualities of the current building, and what it is that gives it the architectural or historic significance. The proposed ideas are then also discussed along with how such ideas will impact the current buildings’ significance and why other solutions are not viable.
These types of documents enable planners to make the most informed decision regarding Listed Buildings or Buildings in a Conservation Area.
